FULL-TIME (hours per week):  40;  WORK SCHEDULE: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday (with occasional Saturdays

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience working as a crew leader or similar work in a position with responsibility for other employees.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, to give instructions, and to work independently.
  • History of producing quality work consistently.
  • Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating an agency vehicle, have a good driving record, a valid driver’s license, and/or the required level of personal auto insurance.
  • Must be able to complete a background check, per company requirements, satisfactorily.
  • Listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality.
  • Adequate ability to communicate in spoken conversation – adequate volume of speech.
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers.

POSITIONS SUPERVISED (or Team Lead responsibilities, if applicable):
Team Leads for a work crew.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
Responsible for assignment of work and for productivity, quality, timeliness, and completion of work by assigned crew.  Ensures safe working procedures and proper use/maintenance of assigned equipment for crew members.  Ensures all services are performed in accordance with contract requirements and company policy, and that the crew maintains a neat, professional appearance and leaves a clean, orderly work area at each job site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Specifics are Outlined in the Performance Work Statement):
  • Make sure the crew has all the tools and equipment necessary for that day’s work before leaving the shop at the beginning of the shift.
  • Ensure all crew members understand their work requirements and can do the job.  Provide training when needed.
  • Perform all daily and periodic inspections and maintenance tasks on assigned equipment.
  • Ensure all crew members are properly trained on equipment before being allowed to use it. Ensure all equipment is used properly and safely to avoid injuries and damage to property. Report any damage or accidents promptly.
  • Work with the crew members and set the pace.
  • Ensure all requirements of the job have been completed, and all quality standards have been met before leaving each job site.
  • Ensure work is completed according to schedule. Notify your zone manager if you anticipate any delays.
  • Know all safety rules concerning your equipment and work according to them. Ensure all crew members follow safety rules and procedures, e.g., PPE is worn, proper work methods are used, and equipment safety devices are in place and operating. Immediately bring any safety issues to the attention of your zone manager.
  • Able to operate automated mower if assigned.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as required to fulfill customer contract obligations or changes based on customer needs.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to perform work outdoors in all seasons (outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather.  Work is expected to continue during light rains).
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment (string trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, etc.).
  • Ability to sit and operate a tractor/mower/truck for up to 2 hours at a time on uneven and sometimes rough terrain.
  • Physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and in all situations.  This position requires considerable walking for up to 6 to 8 hours per day on uneven and sometimes rough terrain (e.g., outdoor unfinished grounds, lawns, paved/finished surfaces), and includes up to 45 degrees.
  • Ability to safely retrieve items weighing up to 50 pounds from high and low areas, and ability to safely transport these items from one work area to the next.
  • Ability to work alone for extended periods of time.
  • Adequate ability for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.

RATE OF PAY: $23.66 per hour, including H&W
 
Current members working on the Laborer's International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union #320, on the RSA Grounds Maintenance contract will receive first consideration.
First Consideration:
Current members working on the Laborer's International Union of North America, Local Union #366, on the RSA Janitorial contract will receive first consideration.
Second Consideration:
